If you want to have fun and keep fit, then this may be just the group for you. Some of our dancers are complete beginners, others have been dancing for many years, but we all look forward to learning new dances, practising those we already know, and listening to great music. It is always fun and good exercise, helping with mobility, balance and coordination.
The facilitators for this group are Sue M. and Gill N.
Weekly Classes
The Line Dancing group is one of the most popular of our u3a groups. We try to make sure that we teach the latest dances so that when our members go to other line dancing events, they can join in and they know the steps.
Sue and Gill introduce new dances all the time, and go through the steps so that everyone can pick up the dance. You get a great sense of achievement when you manage to learn one of the more complex dances.
Line Dance Social
Each year we have a Social Dance at Solihull Indoor Bowls Club, where all the dancers from both groups join together to fill the dance floor. We have a fish and chip lunch, a raffle and a free drink from the bar.
There is a mixture of beginner and improver dances so that everyone gets a chance to join in with something they know. Everyone has a lovely time and goes home with a smile on their face.
St Margaret's Summer Fete
Our line dancers have also done demonstrations at the St Margaret's Church summer fete. Whether it is raining or not, our members love to dance and look forward to onlookers joining in and learning some steps.
