A trip to the theatre is always a treat, whether it is an evening or a matinee performance. We are fortunate to have a number of local amateur theatre groups which we are keen to support, in addition to the Core Theatre in Solihull, which has a varied programme of performances.

Payment details for any group bookings will be notified by the facilitators when bookings are taken.

Cine Seniors (Self-booking)

Cineworld, Solihull hosts Cine Seniors on Wednesday morning at 11.30am. Tickets are £4.50. July showings below:

  • 8th July - The Magic Faraway Tree
  • 15th July - Fuze

Cine Seniors is taking a summer break, showings will recommence on 9th September.

Cinema visits

The facilitators will notify members of the group of the afternoon films on offer locally, which members will be able to book themselves. Event Cinema, such as live streaming of the Royal Ballet, Metropolitan Opera and the National Theatre may be arranged as a group booking.

Theatre visits

Members of this group are encouraged to suggest any performances that they think might be of interest to the group - contact the facilitators using the link above, or at the Core meetings. In addition to our local theatres, we may occasionally attend a professional theatre performance.

Hall Green Little Theatre

Hall Green Little Theatre is one of Birmingham's oldest amateur theatre companies, dedicated to encouraging people in the community to engage with the arts.

It has been run by volunteers since it opened in 1950. The theatre runs ten productions per year, six on the main stage and four in the studio.

Solihull Core Theatre

The Core Theatre in Solihull has reopened after having been closed for repairs. The programme is very varied, with music, theatre, ballet, comedy and many other events in its packed schedule.

There are also talks and lectures from well-known personalities, and the theatre showcases performers who have weekly sessions with Solihull Music.

Dovehouse Theatre

Dovehouse Theatre is part of Langley School's leisure complex, and has been producing plays, music and other events since 2000.

There is a free car park and you can obtain a drink in the theatre foyer.

The theatre is used by local amateur dramatics groups, youth groups and dance academies.
