Garment making

Many of our members are expert knitters and crocheters and some of the finished garments are worthy of the catwalk. It's especially exciting when there is a new grandchild on the way - out come the knitting needles to make something beautiful for the new baby.

Toys and decorative items

It's not only scarves and hats that are produced by our members. Toys, decorations and other items also feature. The group really enjoys seeing what the other members have produced.

Community projects

On occasion our members get involved in projects to support our community. Our crafters produced a large number of knitted poppies to be displayed in the local church on Remembrance Sunday, Jan made a beautiful quilt to hang in the story corner at the library, Pat knitted donkeys to be sold in a local charity shop, some members knit baby blankets for the hospital and we all pitched in to knit triangles for bunting to be hung in Olton library.

Learning from each other

From time to time we have a teaching session where one of our members displays their skills. Jan spent time teaching us how to cut and stitch fabric for a quilt - Annette has made a quilted cushion. Viv showed us her needle felting, we have made cards and paper flowers and several of the members have learned how to crochet.
