The Cookery Group was started during lockdown, when we all baked a cake or biscuits then joined a Zoom session to share our recipes and have a chat.

Now we can meet in person, we decide on a theme for each month - bread, chocolate, harvest, "just 3 ingredients" - then members bring along what they have made for everyone to try. You don't have to make something every month, just come along and sample some of the delicious creations.

We don't tend to have lunch before our meetings, there are too many tempting treats. Tea and coffee are provided.

The facilitator for this group is Janice C.

Easter treats

At our meeting in April there was an Easter theme - the required ingredient was either eggs or chocolate. We enjoyed devilled eggs and Spanish omelette, followed by lots of chocolate cakes, chocolate profiteroles, brownies and French financiers, made with egg whites.

Janice and Desy decorated the table with Easter chicks and bunnies and some lovely spring flowers.

The theme for May is pastry, so we will be making pies, tarts and flans for everyone to enjoy.
